Parent Code of Conduct
At Valley Center NFL Flag Football & Youth Cheer, we believe that parents play a crucial role in creating a positive, safe, and character-building environment for our young athletes. As a parent or guardian, I understand that my words, actions, and attitude directly impact the culture of our program and the experience of every child. I agree to the following:
1. Be a Positive Role Model
I will model good sportsmanship, encouragement, and respect—toward coaches, officials, athletes, and fellow parents.
I will demonstrate grace in victory and composure in defeat.
I will help create a fun and uplifting environment for all players—not just my own child.
2. Respect the Coaches & Officials
I will allow coaches to coach and officials to officiate without interference or public criticism.
I will trust the coaches’ judgment and decisions, understanding they are doing their best to support every child.
I will bring any concerns to the coach or league director privately and respectfully, never during games or practices.
3. Support My Child’s Growth
I will focus on effort, attitude, and improvement—not just wins or stats.
I will reinforce the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance at home.
I will help my child honor their commitments by getting them to practices and games on time.
4. Keep the Sidelines Safe
I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices.
I will never use foul language, aggressive behavior, or negative body language on the sidelines.
I will encourage all athletes and applaud good effort regardless of the team.
5. Communicate with Respect
I will stay informed by reading team emails, attending parent meetings, and using approved communication channels.
I will express any concerns constructively and at the appropriate time.
I will support the coaches and program in creating a safe space for open and respectful dialogue.
6. Prioritize the Team Experience
I will encourage my child to be a good teammate and to respect all participants.
I will foster a spirit of humility, integrity, and community in my words and actions.
I understand that playing time, roles, and responsibilities are earned and managed by the coaches with the team’s best interest in mind.
Acknowledgment & Agreement
By signing this Code of Conduct, I commit to supporting a positive culture at Valley Center NFL Flag Football & Youth Cheer. I understand that violating these guidelines may result in warnings, removal from games, or further action by the league.
